Jason, is the prop bogging trying to come out of the hole or is it slipping?

Sounds like you need a cav ring to go over the barrel of the prop. It is letting to much exhaust gas out at take off to hook up.

    Rebel,
does Turbo make a cav ring for the OT/4? I know my trophy ring will not fit.....
he might just need some PVS holes drilled, sure did help my rig out a lot.......

The HPDI's create a lot of exhaust gas and with it being an over/thru prop, he has way too much exhaust gas going out over the blades of the prop. He still needs to send it to Mark to have it Balanced & Blueprinted and have the PVS holes added IMO, cause that just makes the prop that much better, right Ricky? I am not sure if Turbo makes a cav ring or not, but I am sure that you can get them from Mark.

Could you tell a lot of differance with the cav ring?????? Mike some pro's & con's on the ring?????
would you open up more of the pvs holes with the cav ring or close them off more?

I can say this, after Mark does his B&B job on that OT/4, it will be like night & day......mine handle's so much better,,,,,,, at 66-68 gps I can let go of the wheel, something you don't want to do with a "Toon"......

    Re: ? 4 greg (Ricky196)

My 27 ot4 with no cav ring and all pvs holes open, I rev to 5300 on holeshot. If I add the cav ring I only get 3100 on holeshot. If I run closed pvs holes and no cav ring I get 3100 on holeshot. I personally like to controll the venting through the pvs holes... So I asked Mark to make me a 1/2 a cav ring and he made GE one at the same time... I want to try it, But have not yet... My goal is to vent to 3500-4000 while still pushing hard and no blow out on breakover... The 28 bravo1 will be hard to beat for a fishing prop.

    OK,,,,
I'm venting at 4200 rmp's right now with all medium holes in the pvs's..... so I should be close to right,,,, no blow out,,,,,,, still a little slow out of the hole for me, but it was 90+ degrees, 3/4 fuel & full live-wells {2 bass} can't forget that Rebel,,,

awsome job by Mark & a great prop.....

    Ricky,
I see you Live in Church Point, There is a man
in Gonzales that can put a cav ring on that prop without drilling holes. he did mine a
few months ago and it works great. What he did was mill it down until it was just right. If your interested let me know.
