Only one way I can think to improve on your install. Put them on a Skeeter and give it a twin! Just kiddin'. Wanted to add my picture to the thread in case it helps anyone. Your install really looks great and the red is AWESOME with your boat. Great job!20140222_174449.jpg

They've been great for me so far. I love the extra reach and was in very strong current with them the other day on a local hydroelectric lake and they held fine in any direction. I was extremely impressed. I actually mounted a foot pedal up front AND one by the drivers station so I can drive up to a spot and deploy them from the driver's seat. It also helps when I forget to put them up after I pull the trolling motor.

Is there not a way to mount one of the standard remotes to the console instead of having to buy 2 wireless foot switches?

Oh, sure, you could. But the foot switch had the "cool factor". I just liked this setup better. To each his own...

I have 2 12's on my z518c. Had 1 on my last boat and loved it, so I had to get 2 on the new boat.

Yesterday I ordered two 12'ers in black for my Z520c along with an extra set of mounting brackets and quick connects so I can put them on my ProCraft as well. Both boats get a lot of use and the ease of being able to move between boats was what put the Talons over the top.

How much does each 12ft pole weigh without the bracket?

Very nice. Looking at putting one on my Champion 184. Are these Heavier than the 8' and 10'?

I have 2 12' Talons on my Z9. I love them and the work well. I have the foot switch up front and on the console I programed one remote to work both the units at once so if I pull up to the ramp to get out I just push the remote on the console.

k5tao, I recently bought the foot switch and I noticed it has to be drilled/screwed into the floor. Is that what you did, or is there another way to install the foot switch.

Here is a picture of the wires running in to the boat. They had to cut an additional hole, they also added a plastic cover, but I don't have a pic of that handy.

Thanks glenn for directing me here. Does any body by chance know if I can install the universal jack plate bracket on a 6 in slide master plate with the e-ladder. Also will this setup obstruct my si transducer mounted on my starboard side jack plate?

    thanks.

Talon looks awesome on all the boats shown here!

They will not be low enough to obstruct the SI tranducer. The brackets will mount on the slide master, but not sure if they will interfere with the e ladder. Call me if I can help.

I'm looking to add a 12' talon and am lost on which bracket to get. I have a Bob's Machine Shop hydraulic jp. What I'm not sure of is do I need the spacer kit plus the jackplate bracket or the sandwich bracket? Any advise is greatly appreciated!

OldMikey, I installed mine with just the regular brackets on both sides. The sandwich bracket install means the motor has to come off. Anytime your doing this something bad can happen like it not getting sealed back and your transom getting water logged. The make a Bobs spacer bracket but I didnt need it. holla f you need help
