    Talon works great but I have one major issue......

    I need to find a new hobby that I suck less at. Could not buy any decent fish on Rayburn this past weekend.....

    You have successfully given me enough info to make my decision. I will be getting the 10-12 for talons. Now I just have to get good measurements to make sure and see if the 12 will fit in my garage.

    Glen actually you can. Can I get a measurement from the top part of the bracket attachment, that is attached to the talon, and the top of the talon? From looking at the pictures it's looking like the bracket that's on the talon is attached to your Jackplate bracket and is about level at the top. So from that measurement up to the top of the talon will help me allot. Thanks

    They don't look too tall at all. The 10's would be below the top of the cowling on that one.

    Too bad MK doesn't make one with the control head on the left side and one with the control head on the right side. Then anal retentive OCDs like me could get the symmetry of the control heads pointing in towards the engine or pointing out to the sides.

    TOTALLY AGREE! I like the talons better because of the lack of pumps and hydro fluid. But can't get past the control heads going the same way. I thought on the 10' and 12's they faced the front.

    @cglenn

    About how far does the Talon stick out off the main bracket? Looks to be 8" to 12" with the tilt bracket.

    just curious about dragging the water on takeoff and grabbing water when you stop.

    Not all of these Talon setups are the same. You can adjust where the Talon is in the bracket. If you drag water in your boat at takeoff, you raise the Talon up an inch and you keep doing this until you achieve no drag. Typically if it's adjusted right at takeoff, you won't have any issues at shutdown.

    I was just wondering if it would be in the way when you have a co - angler on board.
    I don't think a boater should be concerned about a co-angler that fishes with him, unless that co-angler is a wife that has an opinion on the issue. Also, whoever installs one, like myself, will eventually purchase a second, like myself again, so it won't matter what side you install the single Talon on.
