    Trolling Batteries???

I'm about to replace my trolling batteries and just wanted to get some feedback. What batteries would you buy if you were replacing yours?

    Re: Trolling Batteries??? (BassinBlazer)

I've had best luck out of Sealed Gel or AGM. With standard batteries, I always had trouble with plates breaking loose an shorting. Brand not too critical, I've got monster Deka AGM's in my 210 (replace the first week I had the boat). The big Deka group 31's don't fit standard trays, so that would my biggest problem. The Delcos that came with the boat were sold with the old boat...

Before that I had Exide Prevailer sealed gels that were going strong after 3 years when I sold that boat.

By the way, I use the heck out of them, ~6-10 days a month at least.

Hey BlazerSC, my boat is a 96 202 also. What set up are you running, motor hp, set back, etc...?

Optima all the way. Replaced my Interstate batteries last year with Blue Tops and what a difference. Nice not having to worry about running out of juice. I'm sold!!

    Re: Trolling Batteries??? (BlazerSC)

How much should a guy expect to spend on a pair of Optimas (27's)? I just bought a cranking battery this week and my trolling batteries will need to be replaced in the next year or so.

$125 to 165 depending on whether or not you catch them on special.

So, between $65 and $85 each. Where do you buy them on special?
