    Trim Question

one hour into my four hour return trip from Toledo Bend, I pulled over to get gas and another boater pointed out that my motor was trimmed all the way up. I got out of the truck and sure enough the motor had trimmed itself all the way up and was still running the trim motor. We unhooked the battery and manually let the motor down for the ride home. I was told that it was probably a relay that had gone bad. My question: There are 2 relays on top of the motor towards the front, are these the relays for the trim? If not, where are they? Also, is there one for up and one for down? Or could it be another problem? BTW, its a 95 Johnson 150.

    Thanks in advance.

Most likely you have water in one of the boats trim switches, the relays on top of the #2 carb are the trim relays.

    Re: Trim Question (RUSTY63)

Tonight I went out and hooked the battery cable back up. For about 5-10 minutes everything seemed to be back to normal. Then the motor trimmed itself up again. So I unhooked the battery cable and manually lowered it again. I'd like to get it fixed soon. I've got lots of fishing to do.
