    Trailer Lights Trouble's

First time posting .. Great site ! I am really having trouble with this one . Suddenly my trailer lights are not working at all ... none of them except brake lights . My running lights , side markers nothing . This is on a Bass Cat 1998 trailer that I have never had a single issue with . They were all working yesterday. I have crawled all around and looked for loose connections and cant seem to find anything. Can someone point me in the right direction , electrical is my weakest deal. Whats puzzling is that the brake lights are still working perfectly . I posted this in the trailer section but thought maybe you guys could help .

I had a problem with that once and come to find out it was because my hitch ball was rusty, took a wire brush to it and some coca-cola and worked like a champ.

Sounds like a bad ground. It happens all the time. Also very fustrating when you look at all the wires and they look fine until you take them apart to find they are chalky/minty green, corrosion has set in big time. Lube the wires with Die-electric grease and is your trailer wires friend..

A little dielectric grease on the trailer light harness pins helps too!

+1 I'd loosen your ground screw and make sure it's making good metal-metal contact

I agree with the majority here for all lights to quit at once is most likely from loss of ground as that is the only common with all your lights.. Could be the trailer or the truck or either plug... Confirm at the truck plug and then trailer plug and work your way back the trailer..Good Luck.

Update . So I went ahead and checked my fuses today in ,my truck and well guess what burnt fuse . Changed it out and now everything is working perfectly except my passenger side tail light and corner light . Passenger side side markers , brake lights , blinkers all working just not the running or tail lights whatever you want to call them . I even have a new passenger side tail light from bass cat ,plugged it in still the same . Blinkers and brake lights good , no running lights. Checked all grounds again and all are good. Drivers side everything is working perfectly. Any Ideas or suggestions ? You guys have already been a tremendous help but I need a little more .

    Re: (june-bug)

I had the same issue several months ago..it was a fuse in the truck. Make sure you c heck all of the fuses. Each taillight was on seperate fuse.

    Re: (june-bug)

Did you check the plug that goes into the truck to see if you're getting power to the running lights? You also might check the wiring going from the tongue to the lights. My Baycat did the same thing after about 2 months. I had a couple of splices for some reason in the middle of the wire going to the back. I pulled on the splices and one was not connected. Fixed the splice and I had lights.
