Question Looking at a '99 Javelin Renegade 18

    Guys,

I am looking at a '99 Javelin Renegade 18 that I will be putting an Evinrude 150 on the back of. I don't know a lot about Javelin boats. Can you guys let me know your thoughts on this boat? Pros and Cons please. Thanks!!

Not sure about the renegade 18 but I have 2000 renegade 19 that I really like. Back before OMC went bankrupt Javelin boats were the most popular brand in my area. Good smooth ride handles well in rough water. Fixing to do a repower on mine.

Hey dude, Gotta' tell you. I have had (3) Javelins and I liked them all. As the other guy said, mine is an OMC made javelin, good quality and I wouldn't trade or sell mine for any amount. It does everything those high priced pieces of crap do that boat companies are putting out now. The resins and fiberglass on those Javelins weren't subjected to the government regulations that all boat companies are now so they will give you years of pleasure. Maintain it and you will love it. I know several people that are holding on to their Javelins instead of buying something that cost three time as much and isn't worth the money you are paying.

The Javelin will like the lift of a Renegade 4 blade more than the performance of a Raker. For the mile or two difference in performance.

I appreciate all the feedback. I think we are gonna pull the trigger on it if I can get the price where I like it. Guy is asking $3600 with no motor and no trolling motor. I think $3600 for just the hull of a 15 year old boat is a bit much. What do you guys think?
