I just think it depends on how much shallow water you fish. If I was consistently in 8' or less of water I'd see the benefit. I'm probably in that shallow of water maybe 25% of the time, and then only a small percentage of that would still require an anchor.

I don't see the benefit of only having ONE Powerpole, but two would be really great to have. Anyone running ONE and happy with it ?

Everytime I fish Guntuersville I see why people would have one. The lakes around here I can do without it.

Well they now have a 10' model but that is still pretty shallow IMO. I have been fishing and thought right now they would be once to have to many times here lately. I wanted to see what some users had to say about them. I mean when you put two on your boat it is an easy $4000!

I can see where they could be a great accessory to have once in a while. But they are way too expensive for me. Even if I could afford them, in my opinion, they are butt ugly on a boat.

    Re: Power Pole (onebadcat)

Put one on my Sabre last spring, and I cannot believe I waited so long. Has been the handiest gadget I've purchased for my boat. Besides the obvious uses, it is awesome for launching and loading solo. Put the nose on the ramp (Hambys) and drop the power pole. Never have to worry about the back end blowing around into the rocks.

Went with a buddy to Fork last spring during the spawn and fished out of his boat (no PP). Fish were in 3-4 feet of water and there was a 30 mph wind blowing. Wound up wedging his boat between whatever stumps we could find to keep it in place long enough to fish. Dual PP would have been awesome, but even one would have been better than what we had.

I will be adding another one to my rig when I can.
