Minn Kota 12' Talon Install - Pics

FINALLY, well almost just waiting on receipt of my quick connect/disconnect electric plug.

Install was fairly straight forward but being completely anal when it comes to installing stuff it was almost a 6 hour job. This included torquing all bolted connections, soldering and heat shrinking all electric connects(except quick connect/disconnect plug which will be soldered when received) and routing wiring through wire loom for and orderly bilge and final install.

Minn Kota 12' Red/Black Talon Shallow Water Anchor

soldered connections inclusive of deployment alarm

Minn Kota 360* jack plate bracket and wiring contained in wire loom

Minn Kota 12' Tilt Bracket installed

Mounted and in the tilted position

    In the upright position

Another perspective in the tilted position

Thanks to Jones Trolling Motor and Amanda at Minn Kota

I can't wait to try it out once I get my connect/disconnect plug and install it.

Is that a factory red color on the Talon, or did you have it painted?

Nice job. On my 8 footer, I cut down the plastic tilt brace some, so it sits almost level in the tilted position. I can squeeze it under the cover that way so it doesn't get covered with bugs when towing long distance.

I've noticed the tilt brackets are a lot sturdier on the 10-12 tilt vs the 8 tilt bracket way less slop

They are just now starting to ship. Certain colors first, based on the overall demand from MinnKota. He has had his on order since November. The ones that have pre ordered with me should be seeing theirs soon, but I can't give a definite date.
    Thanks

As you indicated height above trailering surface can and will vary with installations but mine is currently 6'-10 1/2" above the garage floor.

    Thanks

That's nice to know. Thanks. Guessing for most it will clear a 7'-8' door on the 12' model.

Thats a sweet boat. Looks great. Let us know how the new talons work. I think that 12 foot will be the ticket.
