I remember seeing that boat floating around a couple of years ago. Is that when you bought it?
Why the full restoration? Were you having some issues with anything, or just wanted to change some stuff?
Always thought it was a sharp boat.![]()

i just recently bought it from a buddy of mine. It was in rough shape both carpet and paint. im sure its been around in the hands of 3 other people, but the guy i bought it from fished for the University of Louisville and i know he did a lot of traveling. and i kinda wanted to customize it a little. lol its in my blood.
Hey there.
That boat has been seen before for sure.
I'd really love to hear what the hull weighs. Also. I'd like to know what you find as far as lay-up too. I saw your post on the restoration board.
Are you seeing carbon fiber througout the boat? in any of the boat? or is the carbon fiber a graphic in the decals?
good luck on the restore. It's a good lookin boat.
Hey,
The hull weighs a total of 900#'s and yes carbon fiber is throughout the whole boat. I took a few more pics of the inner areas of the boat to show the carbon fiber. Not the best pics but im using my phone. lol. also, all storage compartment lids and doors are made of carbon fiber. I was told that it cost Stratos $85,000 to build this boat and blueprints cost $6,000.

Hey Nick, what's the latest on this project? I saw the thread with the primer and fixing of the cracks, what does it look like now?
just like my asx,not cost effective to sale it to the public
Actually, if they could sell the ASX for $50k now like they did then, it would be a bargain compared to other boat prices...lol.

That boat was full carbon fiber. It was a unique boat to say the least. It would fly and not for the novice driver by any means. I have driven it a few times and it's a runner for sure.I have not been in it since crossed into KY a few years ago. I am not sure how it would handle the 300 Merc that I have seen pictured on it. I do know how it handled a prototype HO RUDE.
