I've got a 1993 evinrude 40hp with vro oil injection, and am wanting to do away with the vro. I've been told by several to cut the oil line from the tank, and block it off, then just unplug the wiring harness for the vro system. Looking for some info or anyone who has done this? does it work?
Yep, you got it, but mix and run the motor on 50:1 before disconnecting to make sure the motor has enough lube going thru it first.

Why are you looking to do away with it? When it goes bad it will be on the fuel side not the oil side. If you looking to prevent a problem this summer I would replace the pump itself.
not my boat, owners decision, fixing his boat for a tractor. Hey, got a question, motor cranks very easy, but will bogg down, can push in choke, and the rude regains its rpm's. sounds like the carbs need building, but would like a second opinion.
