    Prop suggestions

    I'm running a fast strike 150 with bob's low water on a xb 2003.
Currently turning 6k rpm with a fishing load with two people.
    Running right at 70 mph.
Prop is a stock 24 trophy . I really want to get the rpm down to around 5500 rpm loaded. I also have a 27 srx prop but it spins too many rpm to get it out of the hole loaded.
How do you think a 26 drag 4 would run on this set-up?
I use to like the drag 4 as a fishing prop on my comp bullet with a fishing load.

    Re: Prop suggestions (xrd comp)

I always wanted to try a drag4 with a 6K limiter you may want something a tad bigger still...A 28quadiv put me at 82 at 5900 rpms with me 200 efi, I get 82 at 6400 with a 27 quad iv OT

    Hey Darrell,
When I was running a 150 Intruder on my XB02 I liked a 27 Trophy and then went to a labbed 28 Hydromotive QIV O/T.

Trophy hole shot and handling were quite good and rpms were closer to what they should be, speed was high 70's. Maybe a 26 for your 03.

Wanted to, but never got to try a drag so I can't say.

F2008 do you remember what RPM the 27 trophy would turn loaded to fish on the 150 intruder?

With the 27 Trophy they were a little high, 5800 - 6000, 1/2 to 3/4" above the pad ....depending. It was the 28 Hydromotive that brought them down closer to the recommended revs.

Don't forget, I'm running an xb2002, but I think I'm running pretty heavy and carrying way too much gear. I weighed the boat with everything in it just like I fish it and it weighed in at 1720.

I go thru that anxiety every time I look in the compartments. ..... "no, I might need that", ...."they hit those 2 years ago", ....."these used to work good", ...."these just look like they'll catch fish".....

Hey Darrell...I just saw this post after I posted my QIV-OT 26P for sale. I think someone here mentioned a 26P for your setup?? Just throwing it out there.

    Re: Prop suggestions (AllyFishing)

I have a 150 Opti on my boat and I'm 260 so its always loaded.

    I run a 27 Trophy for fishing. Its 70 mph at 5700.
A Bravo 1 26p will make your boat feel like a drag boat all the way to 60 mph but its going to be a little slower than the Trophy.

Just a guess because I don't have one yet (skid planer) but a skid planer and a 28 pitch big ear should get you pretty close to the same speed you're looking for at around 5600 rpms and should come out of the hole ok.

    Re: Prop suggestions (dspencer)

(dspencer) thanks for the info on the 27" trophy.
With two aboard and a fishing load how does it come out of the hole with a 27" trophy?
Are you running a nose cone gear case on your Optimax?

What engine height are you running.

Sounds like you have a good set-up.

This is the prop I would buy. I love my 27 OT, I am running 82/83 at about 6500 all strung out... I will check and see what the speed is at this weekend

Mid to upper 70's with a good holeshot should be possible with you 150 and this prop
