Structure Scan and Humminbird ducer mounts....

Bill @ Allison called me today to let me know that he has the Structure Scan transducer mounts with all necessary hardware and instructions to mount to the underside of the skid plate if anyone is interested. Got mine comin in da mail!!

I do believe that the one for the Humminbird is also available.

Just thought I would pass it on.

I received it yesterday and installed it right away. Mounts on the very front edge with about a half an inch of it off the front edge of the planer. That's so the wire coming off the front of the ducer does not rub the edge of the planer and cut it. Good idea.

It is about 3/4" thick (just guessing) to allow the ducer the proper angle and not hit the "V's" on either side. I'm hoping ti does not affect water flow to the gearcase or prop. If so, removal is simple...only drilled one hole in the front of the planer.

I did, however, remove the entire planer to attach a small wire holder near the back of the center support so the wire would be attached and not flail around under water pressure.

I'll take some photo's when I get a chance.

I attached the wire with a cable tie near the back to keep the cable from flapping around.

The location for the install is predetermined by how the mount was built. The front countersunk bolt is removed from the skid planer that goes thru the center support and into the pad. That countersunk bolt is replaced by the longer one provided in the kit. A second hole is drilled thru the plate (one in the front) and secured with bolt provided. The mount is installed then the ducer installed with provided machine screws. Very well made and thought out. The mount protrudes forward of the front edge of the plate so the wire does not rub on the edge of the metal plate.
