Bassport questions as well as questions about the one of the For Sale Page.

I have never been in one of these boats but I am wondering fishability vs a 20I. Obviously the Allison is faster but what about storage etc on the boat.

Also is it still a problem fishing one with a 250 in FLW events or any events for that matter?

Lastly does anyone know that particular boat, seems very fairly priced and I am wondering if there is a reason.

    Thanks!!

Re: Bassport questions as well as questions about the o ... (coloradoman25)

I have never fished out of one or even been on the water in one. But I have combed all over them at the factory. They have ALL the storage you could ever want, seriously...storage will not be an issue. Skeeter makes a nice, well built, fishable boat no doubt. But when you get your hands on a boat like this the craftmenship and attention to detail is on a whole different level. Build quality is absolutley second to NONE. This boat will fish just as well as the other boat you are considering. Its ride, effeciency and of course speed will be off the charts compared to the Skeeter. That boat for sale is a 90 mph boat. Even with a 225 it will run mid 80's easily, it looks to be priced well too.

    Can't answer the FLW question.

You are treated like a member of a family. I have a 1990 model which I have had ZERO issues with (and its a Comp Pro ie. lighter lay-up).

Darris, Nancy Todd and Bill are super folks to deal with

Re: Bassport questions as well as questions about the o ... (coloradoman25)

Chris, are you talking about Lance's boat? The blue/white XB21 BasSport Pro?

If so, I have ridden in the boat (prior to Lance taking it home). It was the first Allison I'd ever ridden in. I hit 84 before I realized what I was doing. The XB21's are solid. I've got lots of photos of Lance's boat. I've not fished out of the BasSport Pro, just mine. Rob Shaw can comment on fishability. He thinks the fishability is OK becasue he won a big tourney out of his.

It took Darris 7 years to perfect the hull design for the XB21 line. The hull is super efficient and rides better than anything I've owned (Champions, Tritons, Stratos). That's my wife and kid's perspective and they don't know an Allison from a Glastron.

They have a deeper V hull than any other bass boats. Compare any bass boat hull to the Allison XB21 hull and you'll understand why Darris has to turn the bunks on the sides to keep the pad off the trailer. The boats have aerodynamic features in the hull and on the top cap to provide air flow and improve efficiency. The small cowling in front of the engine works to divert air around the engine, reducing air turbulence in the engine and jackplate area. The windshields work so well, the wind won't blow the rain off your sunglasses when you're running down the lake.

The planar board can provide 3 second hole shots and allow you to stay on pad at less than 3000 rpm. You'll fall off pad on most other boats at less than 2700 rpm.

The rod lockers will blow away any current bass boat on the market as far as storage and layout. The rod lockers are lined all the way to the nose of the boat. The rear storage is huge, lined, and finished. On my 2+2 (same rear storage), I can store my boat cover in one compartment and still have more room leftover in the same compartment that is greater than the rear storage on other bass boats.

The lid latches do not protrude into the storage boxes. They open with one finger and latch closed by themselves. Lance's boat has LED lights that turn on automatically on all compartment lids. The gel coat is the best money can buy. There is no wood in the Allison. They build about 35-45 boats per year.

There is no published warranty. Why? Darris asks why too. There so few warranty claims on the boat itself. Each warranty inquiry is handled on its own. You can call the plant and talk to Mrs. Allison, or Bill or Todd if you have questions. All the warranty items are generally things like electronics, trolling motors, engine, etc - items that are not made by Allison.

    Go here --> http://www.allisonboats.com/ba...e.php

I've got my boat listed in about in the same price range, don't have it listed on this site. I think it is the sign of the times in this current economic environment to faciliate "moving" a boat. I'm sure he has personal reasons but it isn't the boat.

I'm glad you're asking questions because others will see this as well. I'm trying to help get the word out on the Allisons. C&O has an '08 BasSport Pro with HPDI that is yellow/black that they'd like to demo to someone as well. They are the highest quality, funnest to drive, coolest looking, and best made boat I've put my hands on.

Re: Bassport questions as well as questions about the o ... (Duane Harper)

Not sure about FLW but the BASS Weekend Series has no problem with my boat/motor combo. The front deck has the exact same sq footage of my 210 Champ Elite and more sq footage on the back deck. Storage is as big or bigger. Rough water ride on the BasSport blows away Champ or any other brand Ive owned.

It takes awhile to learn how to drive one and you find yourself constantly correcting internet experts that have never even seen one of these boats yet they seem to know all about them.

I'll never own another bass boat.

I bought a used 1994 XB 2003. It is the finest boat I have ever owned by far. Fit finish and build quality are very impressive. It doesnt have one stress crack in it. I think its funny that most other brand boat owners think stress cracks are normal..........

Re: Bassport questions as well as questions about the o ... (K-DAWG)

I made some calls and all the tournament directors I deal with are saying the 250 on Lances boat would be a problem because of Allison's reccomended HP plate.

So I guess that counts this one out. Thanks for the help guys!

Did you tell him exactly what the plate said or that it only recommended a 225 or lower HP? My plate states the 90 to 150 recommendation is for warrenty and efficence only, that the coast guard dont rate boats over 20 feet. I am sure that plate said something along those lines.

I sent a picture of the plate actually

So it said it itself. I think its stupid but I need this boat to not give me headaches fishing tournaments. This is my main direction. If I was club level geared only I wouldnt hesitate.

Goodluck in your search. The only 2 other boats I can think of that you will get the same type of craftmanship from are Bullet and Stroker. Maybe check them out.

Thats unfortunate Chris. I wish Darris wasnt so stubborn with the recommendation plates but he obviously has his reasons. There's no Coast Guard rating however the wording of "recommendation" for safety and warranty issues is understandably cause for concern for some tournament organizers. I believe I would be forced to make the same call if I were in their shoes.

K-Dawg that 21 Bullet RDC is sweet, they just need to do something with those G*d awful tiny consoles! Same with the Stroker, I like them except the CLAMS. LOL

It really is a bummer because this was the front runner for my next boat. I will keep looking and see what happens.
