im gonna stick with the canoe,xb2002!
i really love the 21 but my 02 is perfect for what i do,i like to go fairly fast and do some fishin and maybe break a 100 someday.however for the tournament angler they all should have the 21.those things are awesome.

The XB2002 is a hot boat! I also have a thing for the XB 2003s. Those two models still have the retro Allison classic stylish lines. I like how Allison doesn't change the boats for the sake of change. It truly adds claissic value to the boat. Dang it! the more I'm around these Allys, I appreciate all of them! They are definitely unique boats for sure. It's like they don't go out of style no matter what model year you have. I love 'em!

now after playin with the xb21 again! i have ran this thing 90mph. it is friggin crazy to see a barge that big go that fast.what are the limits? 25psi water pressure wot and 3/4 inch below pad with not much trim at all. however the trophy i think is surfacing.it has quite a roostertail. i feel that this boat has 94 written all over it????

Fastest speed I have seen reported out of a XB21 (prosport) was 102 or 104 mph(dang...can't remember!). Either way it was haulin the mail, there is a video of the run somewhere.

I feel like my Hydro Tec HPDI would push the 21BS Pro over 100 with no problem....it pushes my 200 XL Stratos over 90.

370ish........the guys at Hydro Tec have been very kind. We have several prototype changes we have tested for them. Some we can't sell to the public...some we can.

They know how to build big power on the Yamaha's!

I would say Hydro-Tec Yammies are at the top of the food chain for HP Bass Motors. Thant may PO some of the Merc dudes but....there you have it.

    Re: (Darth VMAX)

for sure the yammies are bad. had a 99vmax225 3.1l ox66 on a 99 20xf would run 80 no problem.the mid and low end were awesome. then switched over to a 99 promax 225 2.5l less low end torque and only a 3mph gain on top. this was even with a 100 lb weight loss.
all that being said put the hammer on a 21!give us some notice cause i wanna see it

Not cutting Hydro-Tec by any means, they have my full respect for blazing new trails for the past 15 yrs. or so that I know of. But I have to say this being a Mercury man, A friend of mine thought the yams were the way to go for many years. The last two bass boats he's owned were Xb-2003 PST's, when he purchased his first one in 1995 he bought a stage two 225 Yamaha, (he had had several before on 201 xl Stratos's) it ran pretty good until we started blowing him away with stock 225 Pro Max's, he went out to Waynes and tried a stage 3 on the same boat but it was too sluggish on the bottom end to work for fishing, needless to say we had a 225 pm on the back of that 2003 in no time. I know technoligy has changed two fold since then, but if the Yami's are so strong as everyone claims why aren't they running them on drag boats like they use too.

    Sorry I couldn't help myself!

Mine is a holeshot pig.......nature of the beast.....open up the exhaust and the torque band jumps way up on the rev range.

Some boats are made for the 2.5......2002, 2003 being two of them.....XB 21 set to fish is not.

    Re: (Todd Morgan)

Not talking about drag motors...thats why I specified HP BASS Motors. Big difference between the two.

The Yammies are big and heavy....you need a BASS boat platform that is suited for them. In the past a Bullet, Allison wasn't perhaps the best. That has changed a little bit since you can now run a 16" mid AND a 1.62 SportMaster lower (yes I know its a merc product). these were things (as well as the new big bore throttle-body, intake spacer, etc.) that were not part of the Phase Kits that your buddy ran. Each year they develope more and more goodies This ALL on pump gas, maintaining low rpms. 370 hp out of a DFI is FAR higher than the 300xs puts out. Not to mention the torque advantage the Yammie traditionaly has over Mercury. Also, last I knew the Mercs are pretty much un-touchable for any major modifications to whats under the cowling.

I think its awesome to see what Wayne and his crew has done
