I hate my Allison.

Because its never as fast as (my buddy know a guy thats gota _______thats as fast as an Allison)....Again I heard it tonight..........Its so hard being the guy that everyone is faster then....Its a shame to have a boat that everyone can beat and they use you as a metering board. I say if your faster good why do you have to tell me? ...... Just prove it... Bad thing is you dont even have to say a word once you own one everyone finds you just to tell you..... Its so hard to tell some one that a non pad boat will only run so fast no matter how much HP it has...thick!!

I love hearing guys talking about how fast their boats are, fished tourneys for years, never been passed, yea right. I've even heard this from guys that have 65 mph boats.

Yeh, and most Allisons wont do 85mph safely, and if they did I wouldnt want to ride in one.

Why would you want to catch a fish doing 85 anyway?

That's ok---If you don't want to ride in one. They definitely are not for everyone, and frankly that is why, I am on my second one. Allison is the only boat brand I have bought more than one of..Yes I have owned Ranger...Yes they are a FINE fishing boat..Just not for me.

Not being safe at 85...85 in an Allison with a competent driver and good equipment, is no more unsafe than driving your truck over 85 ..Now speeds above 95 are getting risky..above 100 I had a 2003/280 I never pushed it to triple digits with a passenger. I have ran it to 95 with a few guys...A couple of them, claimed It did not feel that fast !

As for catching fish going 85 No I can't catch a fish running 85 ---no more than you can catch one running 70 I first started hearing that about 25 years ago, except then it was 65.....Yes it's getting old
But I still don't understand it--I guess if you were trolling 85 would be to fast.....However trolling is not allowed in a bass tournament. But beating someone else to a good spot is allowed. More than once I have ran long distances to a good spot and have a fish IN THE BOAT. before someone you passed on the way up the lake even got there..Same way at the end of the day..I might be able to make 5 more casts after (you) left the fish-----which just now turned on..
As good as these tournament fishermen are today----This ol man will take every advantage I can get.. And trust me adding an extra 10-20-30 minutes a day worth of extra fishing time....Is Good
What's even better------I will burn less fuel than you, while I'm beating you to the same area... To get the first shot at those fish

How many times do you wish you could been there 10 minutes earlier in the morning and 10 more minutes in the evening......Most of the time I let all the boats go by then wrap my stuff up and then head to the weigh in....

La. jail break

One club I am in blows an air horn once... then the 2nd horn a minute later means the bees are out of the hive and heading for the honey hole...
of course, some "lakes" here are not that wide with stump lines well off the bank...sooo when you line up 20+ boats 15 feet apart... its not for girly men....
I ease out at 71gps paddling with one hand.
