    Request for Allison Information

I am in the market for a new bass boat. I currently own a Triton TR-21X and have owned Ranger in the past. I have never ridden in an Allison; however, after reading the website I am interested in obtaining information on the new 21 foot bass boat built by Allison. Does the Allison trailer have a detachable tongue? What is the total length of the entire package with the detachable tongue? Is there a storage system for tackle and how many Plano 3700's will store in the storage compartments? Is there an Allison dealer in Georgia? Finally, what is the approximate cost of a new Allison Bass boat with a 225 Evinrude? Thank you in advance for anyone that may assist me in obtaining this information. Right now I am considering another Triton TR-21X, Bass Cat Puma, or Allison.

    Thanks,

Re: Request for Allison Information (Corky Darnell)

Lee will probably come along with more info, but...
    Detach tongue..yes
Overall length w/250XS and 8" setback- I get 22'10" give or take and inch
Storage System- yes I have the ProSport I carry up to 12 myself that are readily accessible and and my partner maybe 10, but it will hold many more lower in the compartments. Allison has different drop-in trays to allow you customize what you want to carry. The BasSport Pro probably holds more.

If you want a 225 you may want to consider the Merc 225XS Sport- I don't know about the gearcase design of the Evinrude, and whether it would perform real well on the Allison.
The XB21 will run mid-upper 80s loaded with a 225 Merc, and get very good fuel mileage.

I really appreciate the data. Do you have any idea what the cost of such a fine machine would be? The more I read about the Allison, the more I think I might want to buy one for my next boat. How bad in the chine walk? How satisfied are you with your Allison. Between the Bass Cat, Triton, and Allison, would you purchase the Allison again? Do your partners feel the boat is cramped or uncomfortable to fish from? How happy are you with the fishability of the boat? I am sorry about asking so many questions, it is just that there is very little first hand experience to assist us that may not know much about the Allisons.

    Thanks,

    CJC'

What is your top end speed with the 250XS? Are there any disadvantages to the 250 XS other than cost? How drivable is your boat at high speeds?

    Thanks,

Re: Request for Allison Information (Corky Darnell)

    Corky,

As with any ultra-high perf boat, it will require some learning to drive, but once you learn it's bad-a$$ I will never own another bassboat besides an Allison. The fishability surprised me- it's very stable at rest, and there is an awful lot of room. In my boat(ProSport) the passenger is spoiled- he has his own rod locker (8 rods+ 4 on deck) and a huge compartment for tackle. Top speed is 90ish with two guys loaded to fish. The 250XS is a great motor- the only disadvantage-it's not a 300XS. Price - your looking at high 50s . You really should find a dealer to take you out in one.

    CJ:

This sounds exactly like I want. I want a great fishing boat first; however, I must admit that I love to go fast. My definition of fast for years has been 79 miles per hour. I guess that definition will change if I purchase an Allison. Do all Allison dealers sell at the same price as with Ranger boats, or are some dealers willing to decrease the price? Also, are all dealers knowledgeable about set ups and the appropriate props? What prop do you run with your 250XS?

    Thanks again,

    Corky

Lee may be able to answer the dealer question better for you, but I do believe some will give you a better price, however, there are not many of them so travel costs come into play. I haven't dealt with different dealers, so that is hard for me to answer. I know Lee on the board here has a very good reputation and knows how to setup these boats. I run a trophy 26 or a Hydromotive Q-IV-X 27 on my boat. Keep in mind you'd likely be running 1.62 gears so the prop pitch vs speed does not compare from most other boats.

Craig, (cjc) answered your questions as accurate & honest as anyone could.
As far as Dealer pricing, you will have to check arround, make sure you are comparing apples to apples, there are many options that can change the price drastically. Call Allison, they will tell you the Dealers that know set up & want you to be satisfied & comfortable with your new boat. I think you'll find this in all of their Dealers but ask to make sure. Although there are many good boats out these days, there are none that compare to the quality & workmanship of an Allison, the ride, looks & fuel economy are a great addition to the best boat built. While you're talking to Allison, set up a time to go visit them & take demo ride, this is the only way you will know for yourself that it is the boat for you.

I would also recommend you schedule a trip to the plant. You can see first hand
the quality of these boats and also take a demo ride. I have a Bassport pro
and It is the best fishing boat I have ever owned. The price is comparable
to any other high end 21 foot bass boat. The allison will be 10 to 15 mph
faster with the same horse power than any other 21 foot boat. I live close
to the factory here in Tennessee and I would be glad to take you fishing.
It hard to appreciate these boats until you spend some time in the boat.
Please let me know if I can help , I will be glad to help you schedule a
plant visit or meet you somewhere for a fishing trip.

You can call Darris or Nancy Allison to schedule your plant visit.

Re: Request for Allison Information (podge)

I would love to go fishing with you when I visit the Allison plant. I have fished out of Rangers and Tritons for years, so this may be quite a change for me. I live in Central Georgia, so the trip will not be too bad for me. I may go up during my vacation in December. I will let you know.

    Thank you very much,

    Corky

Re: Request for Allison Information (Corky Darnell)

Corky, I went from a BassCat Puma with all the bells and whistles to an Allison XB2003. The only issue I have is the nagging question of "what took me so long to get an Allison".

Ive owned over 10 bass boats and I do not SELL them nor am I SPONSORED by any of them. Allison in my opinion has the most efficient hull and the best quality of workmanship that Ive ever seen.

As for customer service...I dont know, Ive never needed it! BassCat has very good customer service.

Just so you know...most on here already know but Lee owns an Allison dealership.I have been fortunate enough to ride in an Allison with Lee and I have a 2005 Triton and my next boat will be an Allison. The ride was just amazing at over 80 and up to.We were talking to each other without yelling and I was still wearing my hat and if I had it could have drank a cup of coffee without spilling it.Take the tour and the test ride and you will buy an Allison.
