    3.2 Stroker 300xs

Broke it in last week on a customers 21' ProSport, ran several different props today, it is running within 3 mph of the fastest 300x that I have ran on a 21' ProSport in the past. Very impressive, the hole shot is 3.5 secs. with 1 or 2 people, makes no difference, top speed drops 2 mph with a 2nd person, 220 + lbs., all testing was with a fully loaded boat, 3-batteries & trolling motor ready to go fishing.

sounds great Lee. What were the top end numbers with a fishing load and two people with the 300XS? I'm sure they would be close on my Bassport.

    Thanks, Harvey

95.5 two people, 97.5 with one. Your BasSport 2+2 is 2 mph slower than a Prosport due to a little more weight & aerodynamics. This thing is still on double oil & not loosened up yet, probably a few more mph in it.

    Re: 3.2 Stroker 300xs (Props4u2)

Thats awesome! Great report Lee. What kinda fuel economy did it get? My little 225X gets 3.5 to 4.5 MPG at crusing speeds (which is double what it got on my old Shadow hull ). I know the 250XS's get well over 5 MPG. Are the 300XS's close to that as well?

The top end numbers your reporting with any special prop (worked or stock)?

    Thanks, Harvey

What is the elevation you are running at. I am going to the allison factor next month to look at the BasSport Pro. I fish at Elephant Butte in New Mexico which is 4400 ft elevation. I currently own a Cobra and gain 7 MPH. at low elevation.

    Re: 3.2 Stroker 300xs (BlueallyXB21)

    Harvey,
I didn't get to check the fuel economy, I had to order a longer cable for the sc engine monitor so it was not working when we were testing. As I recall, the last 250xs I ran was 7 mpg @ 65 mph & 5 @ wide open, I would think they will be fairly close. The prop was a stock out of the box 27p Trophy @ just under 6300 rpm's with a 1.62 gear ratio, more room for improvement to be found here for sure. @ 5000 rpm's it is cruising @ 80.

    Re: 3.2 Stroker 300xs (cobradean99)

The elevation is 400', 4400' would surely make a difference.
I sold Cobra's from 1999 until they closed the doors the 1st time in 2002, great boat for the money, very good ride & handleing.
    Have fun @ the factory.

    Hey Corbradean,

I am also in rio rancho, fish at the Butte quite a bit. have you been in Allison's before ? There's a couple that are at the butte ever once in a while. There's a blue and white/ merc XB-03, I believe David is his name and I got a white/black with red interior Xb-03 w/Merc.

    Re: 3.2 Stroker 300xs (cobradean)

    Dean,
The BasSport Pro is 2 mph slower than the BasSport 2+2 & 4 mph slower than the ProSport. They all have the same hull, it's all in weight & aerodynamics.
Bullet builds a very good boat, but there is no other bass boat that is built like an Allison, I'm not saying this because I sell Allisons, I'm saying that this is why I sell Allisons.

Allison, no rot composite construction,(since 1989) not balsa wood
Large storage compartments, front & rear
Fastest bass boat power for power, size for size
Best wind protection of any bass boat
Pumps, transducers and rigging fully accessible, no gas tank removal needed
Hull & deck fiberglassed & epoxied together, no caulking needed under rub rails
Excellent ride & handleing, stabil, level platform while fishing due to design and wide beam
Come off plane from high speed, with out feathering gas with no back wash
Most standard equipment is optional on other boats

These are just a few differences between Allison & other bass boats.

    Dean,
We're done testing for this year. I still have a few other props I want to run, I feel there is some more to gain.
I believe Key is your closest Dealer, I am located in Chester,Va. 13 miles south of Richmond.

    Re: 3.2 Stroker 300xs (cobradean)

Hey Dean,,, I was wondering if this might be you.. Not many people in these parts are looking into the new 21's,, although there are quite a few tourny bass fishermen I have talked to at the butte that were interested in talking about Allisons , I given a few rides in mine. Some of the Tourny guys are leaning towards the larger Allisons now that they have more visibility.

I have not yet set foot in the XB21,,, yet. I will have the chance over Thanksgiving Holidays back home in Louisiana. I am leaving today, thru the 27th. Going to tow my XB-03 down there.

Lee, for this altitude here, 4000 plus,, Merc recommends the "High Alitiude Gears" , which is 2:1 ratio in the 2.5 applications. I am not familer with the 3.0 sporty gearcase,,,, but is there a 2:1 gearset option for it?
If so, that might be the ticket up here.

On my XB-03 w/2.5 Merc I typically run a sporty with 1;87's... I am pulling the 2:1 Titus 200 case off my drag boat, to take down to sea level and play a bit..

Dean --- My team faired pretty well in the Fins/Spins/Pins actually..... I would have hated to just win the whole thing the first time out.... Therefore we left a LOT of room for improvement.... I believe we are tied for dead last,,,we got flooded out on the golf course (did not complete but 9 holes), the arroyo got 3 feet deep on us,,,, Fishing sucked ( a couple whites),,,, and I think two of my shotting guys waz shutting their eyes when pulling the triggers....Loads of fun tho'...

    Ya'll have a very Happy Thanksgiving !

Re: 3.2 Stroker 300xs (RB in NM)

    Russ,
I know there are 1.87 gears for 3.0L's but have not seen 2.0:1. 1.87 should do the trick.

    Re: 3.2 Stroker 300xs (Props4u2)

    Dean,

I have not been on the Butte with my 21 Prosport But I did run the 2003 there a couple of times..
However I don't think there is much difference in elevation between the Butte and Conchas.
We have ran a pair of 21 prosprts there and a 21 bass sport. You are correct about losing 7+ mph at the 4000 ft mark. One of the Prosprts has a 250 merc. (I think) it has 1.67-1 gears in it. He does well at the higher elevation lakes with an Alli cut 25 Trophy and a hydrofoil.

It pays to shop around with any high dollar investment. The worst thing for us out here is not having a dealer within a days drive..You might be closer to Billy Bower in Ark.

    Re: 3.2 Stroker 300xs (cobradean)

    Dean.

My 21pro sport has a 225 Promax with a few mods.. I have not spent a lot of time on Conchas, and as you know, with the water down as it has been. There are not a lot of places you can run very hard with weekend traffic. The prop I used over there would hit the limiter at 77-78 mph.
The 21 prosport with the 250 would run 82-83 with a worked 25 Trophy.
So I think a prosport with a 300 and some set up time should get darn close to 90 with a load.

    Re: 3.2 Stroker 300xs (cobradean)

    Have a safe trip.,
The numbers I have given are some what conservative. As we are very serious about our tournament fishing. So it is hard for us to leave anything at home that could be needed. We fished a week long championship down at lake Amistad in Oct. By the last day I felt like it was time to take a bunch of crap out of the front. The boat picked up almost 4 mph with the same prop.

Be sure to tell Nancy, Darris and Bill hello for me.
