    hello guys...got some questions??

Can a guy buy an allison in good shape for less than 15K? also, what model would be good for a family of 3 and a dog?? do any of you tourney fish with your Ally?? if so, how do you deal with the 280 hP motors and the restrictions of 250 hp on most tourney trails?? i am tryin to save some money and hopefully have one in about 1-1.5 years..just depends on a few things...but i dont want to spend any more than like 17,500.00 on a boat...thanks

you can score a late 90's allison for less than 15k fairly easily, usually with a 225 promax

i would recommend the xb2003 as the best family/tournament boat

despite the popularity of the 280 motors in the fast boat crowd, i would venture to say that most allisons are rigged with lesser power

thats good to know...what kind of speed would a boat with a 225 put out?? in your experience, what kind of shape are most of the ally's in with a 225?? i would hate to buy a boat and then 2 months later buy a dang motor because the guy before drove the piss out of it...when you say late 90's, you mean 1997-1999 with the same year motor for 15's or less??? If thats the case, that sounds really really great to me

I helped my fishing buddy find and buy a 1999 XB 2003 w/1999 225 ProMax. He bought the boat last fall. The boat needed a good polish, some cleaning up, a new windshield and new plastic troll panel insert, otherwise it was in excellent shape. So far, with a bunch of setup, I have run the boat 96.8 mph with just me in the boat, three batteries, troll motor and a full tank of gas. This rig runs low 90's with two fishermen and their stuff. By the way, he gave $17,500 for the rig.

    BassMan25,

I will be happy to take you for a ride and maybe even fish a little. Skiatook is close and a pretty little lake! If you could stand to drive a little farther (go East on 412 from Tulsa about 25 miles), we could have my buddies XB 2003 w/225 ProMax also and could run on the upper end of Fort Gibson lake with both boats.

Just give me a couple days notice and we'll go. Also, I'll be at the MidWest Rally on Grand Lake this October.

My partner and I both found our boats on the Allison web site (allisonowners.com). Incidentally, my boat was sold in Oklahoma and went to live at Salina, Kansas---that's where I went to get it. My buddy went to Vidalia, Georgia to get his. I'm sure that when you are ready there will be a nice one available. The Allison owners seem to take very good care of their rides.
