Emron (air craft type paint) paint is also an option that might be tougher. Just a thought. Sounds like you guys are in a very harsh environmentthat needs special attention.

2003 Allison XB21 BasSport 2+2
2019 Mercury 300R
Aqua Traction from Fastbass Marine
I paid extra to have them clear coat with emron.
that stuff is normally great. This trailer almost acts like the primer did not stick good.
i have been seeing a few aluminum trailers that look good !
it just aggravates me to buy the best and highest priced performance boat on the market. and not have a trailer to match.... I say this because I have had trailers that were of that quality. and did not have to do anything special to keep them looking nice under the same conditions.
FnF,
When Allison was using SMT trailers, they were channel iron and lasted pretty good. I think they switched in the mid-90's. We always preferred to use TI (Trailers, Inc.) trailers so we ordered the boats w/o trailer and supplied our own. My new trailer is a TI (now called EZ Loader Custom).
I think the Boatmate would last OK if they used heavy wall, American made, tube and spent a few more $$$$ on the prep before painting. All the ones we see, around here, look just like yours. When Boatmate finally switched to using stainless fasteners, that helped some. The re-paints seem to hold up better too.
froggy
Darris did have Boatmate use a heavier wall tubing starting in 2006.
sanderson marine, can they redone my sportmaster lu, I'm having tremendous steering torque, and is undrivable, considering titus & you all

MAN, that Bassport Pro is my dream boat. i saw a guy running an XB2003 with a Merc 260 (i think) last weekend in the Arkansas Big Bass Bonanza. we were fishing near each other all day, and he'd take off from the back of a cut and that Merc would start screamin and the boat was freakin incredible. i had a good time just seeing him flyin around. anyways, i plan on having an Allison one day, but until then I will just enjoy seein you guys run around!
Allison will have several of the new model bassboats on display at
the boat races on July 3rd and 4th at Kingston,Tn. Try to stop by if
you can.
Podge
whew, thats a long haul! what races and where can i get more info? I'd love to get to ride in one. i dont necessarily have any plans this weekend and could pack up and go.![]()
actually i was thinking kingsport, kingston is only about 2 hours. i will try to be there
My boat don't "fly" like some of the higher horsepower boats. It doesn't seem to have a problem with most of the 200/225 cookie cutter boats though.
Fireman, have you ever thought about getting the trailer frame coated with some of that bed coating?
