New to me boat, Well.. First boat for me.

I'm just posting a few pics because I'm a young buck and most guys my age don't own a boat.. Just bought it yesterday night after poking around.. Called a relative and he had this sitting in his barn, 1968 Sea Nymph that he bought brand new.. Tell me what you think.. my dad gave me a brand new bow mount trolling motor that you see in the picture..

Well I'm talking about the guys that live around here Most of them that I went to high school with are working dead end jobs and not doing much. I've gone a LITTLE farther than that

I started out with an 18 ft alumacraft canoe, ended up 40 years later with a ranger 520, pretty sure I caught more out of the canoe, it ainn't the size or type of boat you have, its simply having something you can fish out of, drop that troll motor and get on with it, you made a wise decision, NOW go fish.

I caught more fish out of a 12' Montgomery Wards Sea King than anything I have owned since. Rod and Reel cost me about 4 bucks. Fish didn't care.

    Fish on

I have caught a ton of fish out of boat very similar to that in my younger years. Seems like things were a little more simple then. You will enjoy it!

I sure hope so, I've been fishing out of everyone else's boats since I was able to hold a fishing rod, I'll keep this for a while because I'm going to put some money into it.

    Re: (LoneFisherman)

you have learned more from the back of someon elses boat..... now that you have your own rig you will catch more fish

like my dad told me "son it is not the boat that catches the fish it is the man standing on the deck"

I fished out of my dad's 70's glastron bass boat, I loved every minute of just being out on the water and fishing.

Very, very nice! I'd redo that front deck with some plywood to make it a little lighter. It will make it easier to put on and off the trailer!

    Keep us updated with pics!

Nice keep us posted and send pics. I started out with a 16ft fibergalss hull I bought second hand from the Navy MWR, it came with a 9.9 hp Merc, 1970 model. I pimped that boat out with a front Teakwood Deck a Hummingbird LCR and a 25hp Merc with a little stainless prop. Also added a livewell and carpet an re-painted and gelcoated the hull from Orange to Hunter Green. I called it "The Green Hornet". Man I miss that little boat, caught a ton of fish from it. Point is I now have a 188VX Ranger, I remember back in those days dreaming that one day I will have a Ranger and you have to start somewhere. thanks for triggering some fond memories and enjoy Your new to You Boat and welcome to some GREAT times to come.
