TR 186 with 175 Optimax what prop

Hey new to the board have found lots of great info and knowledge here. I am currently running a 2007 Triton Tr 186 with a 175 Merc Opti hanging on an 8 inch manual jack plate. The boat came with a michigan wheel rapture prop which I am assuming is a 23 pitch(can't find any markings on it). This prop dosnt give the boat near enough bow lift, boat can be trimmed to the top limit and not walk at WOT. I have taken the plate as high as i can while maintiaining the spec water presure. I am looking to reprop and was wondering what guys with this set up are running. Was looking at a 24P Fury or Tempest. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

See if you can find a 23" or 24" tempest to test for bow lift. The 24" fury is stiff to turn at take off, turns like a 25" tempest so it might be too much prop. Is your motor an pro xs or regular opti.

My motor is a regular optimax, I had heard that the fury was a pretty stiff prop so was one of my concerns. Will look for a tempest, Thanks for the reply

What kind of speeds/rpm are you seeing with the 175? I have an 08 with 150 and looking to repower it.

24fury at 5"above transom. 65.1 gps. Great holeshot. Decent w full tank and live wells. I ran a 25 tempest before fury was available. The tempest was a dog w heavy load. IMHO, 24 fury is the right prop for this combo, as the midrange and overall handling of the boat is A lot better w/ the fury.

I am currently getting 58-60 gps at 5800rpm however I am sure that a new prop would improve the top speed a little the boat is a
Dog at mid range not getting enough bow lift so there is still a lot of boat in the water even at wot the boat has to be trimmed to the upper limits and still has up to the back of the drivers seats in the water. There is now ice on the lakes here it was minus 8 this morning so won't be able to update with the new prop until spring.

25 Tempest or Trophy should be the ones. Tempest is faster usually but a Trophy drives easier. Get the motor up to 3 1/2" under pad and go up from there. That ought to be a 65-68 mph rig
