System Matched

Hey guys,

What's the difference in "System Matched" parts and "OMC" parts? Are "System Matched" parts made by OMC? Are they of the same quality?

I'm looking at a water pump kit +housing, but it is actually a "system matched" part rather than and "OMC" part. Should I go for it?

Wasn't "System Match" some kind of OMC marketing? For some reason, I remember seeing it in old OMC brochures and even on a tag on my old OMC oil tank.

System Matched was the OMC marketing. I am not sure that BRP is still using that wording. Im sure there are a ton of parts in the system with this logo still on them. I believe that BRP is using Johnson and Evinrude Genuine Parts.

Both number are old part numbers. Both of your numbers change to a 5001594.. They list for $62.10..
