    Taking my Dad fishing tomorrow

My Dad and stepmom moved to TN from CO after retiring last year. He has never been a fisherman, despite the fact that we had a lake house since before I was born. I've always thought it would be great if he would pick up the sport so that we would have something to do together. He calls me this evening out of the blue looking for advice on fishing reels for a beginner. Told him I was going fishing in the morning and he could come with me and try out some of my spinning rods and the kids spin casters. He is coming over tomorrow AM and we are going to hit Old Hickory. Was going to drive to KY Lake, but this seems like a better idea to me.

I'm stoked and praying that I can get him "hooked".

Late March is a good time to introduce him. Fish should be biting.

Re: Taking my Dad fishing tomorrow (keefus)

PLEASE...PLEASE...PLEASE...take your Dad fishing EVERY CHANCE YOU GET!!!!!!!
My Dad is still with us but wheelchair bound with cancer and other things. MY BIGGEST REGRET IN MY LIFE...is that I didn't return the favor if fishing trips NEARLY ENOUGH!!!!!!! It is a regret that I can NEVER undo!!!!!!! Take him fishing as often as possible!!!!!!

Don't be too much like me and break his shoes. At least my father has been fishing his whole life. He still thinks he can out fish the kid!

    Enjoy the day
