I play here in Florida...I don't play to win though...I just play so that whoever DOES win, gets all they're supposed to get...

How many of us would regularly enter tournaments that only offered a slightly less than 60% payback? And especially one that takes in the kind of money a lottery does?

It is a voluntary tax, it wouldn't work if they paid out 100% less cost to administer the lottery. I always appreciate the donations that help keep my taxes from going up!

With the numbers lotteries deal with, a greater than 40% recapture of this "voluntary tax" is a bit over the top IMO. Who audits state lotteries? Please don't say "the state does"...

Take this Mega jackpot for instance...how many dollars in gross revenue was / is taken in for this jackpot to have reached this level? These are kind of rhetorical, I don't really expect anyone to "know" as much as pass on what they've heard...
