    Question 2003 OX66 Fuel Filters

Ive got a 2003 200 HP OX66 on my boat and Ive read some posts where guys replace the fuel filters yearly as part of their maintenance. Anyone mind telling me which fuel filters it is you replace and how much they cost? If you buy them online, what site do you use?

Simply look at at the top of the Yamaha forum and you will see sticky's for "how to maintenance items" that includes how to replace every fuel filter. I would start there.

The only fuel filter i saw in the stickys were the hidden fuel filter for the hpdi. Do the ox66 motors also have these

The 3 LP pumps on the side are easy to change and can cause problems if there is a leak. There is also a Screen in the VST tank directly under the High Pressure fuel pump that can get clogged easily and should be at least cleaned, go a head and order a new VST gasket if you do this. Also the obvious fuel filter in the clear bowl should be changed at least every other year.

Yes, the OX66 motors have the same fuel filters as the HPDI's. Both motors have low pressure fuel pumps, VST fuel pump with screen inside it, canister fuel filter (high pressure), some HPDI's have O2 sensors (2.6L). Everything I listed below are maintenance things that need to be done typically every year if not more depending on use.

The ox66 does not have high pressure pump so it has no secret filters . Also doesn't have metal filter after vst. Would also recommend changing filter on back of oil tank in boat. If you don't have water sep in boat prolly need to install one.

Thanks i didnt think the ox66 motors had the hidden filters. I plan on changing the canniater filter and the vst filter, and have already cleaned my O2 sensor and replaced the low pressure pumps. Just trying to make sure i wasnt going to miss something. Thanks for your help guys

What do you call the pump inside the VST? I had to change mine out a couple of years ago because it wasnt pumping at a high enough pressure. I thought it was called a high pressure pump.
