Well although I'm still obsessed with bass fishing, I've recently had a desire to buy an old tractor to mess/tinker with. I grew up on a farm, moved away when I was 22 and only recently went home to Montana after my mother passed. Did a day's plowing on Dad's Farmall 560 and messed around helping him for a week with various stuff. Brought back a lot of good memories. This was also while I was in Afghanistan (Army shipped me home for the funeral for a week) serving with an Agriculture Development Team so I was reminded of all the old ways of farming that is normal over there. Guess when you leave the farm, you never really do.
Anyways, I found a 1945 B Farmall on Craigslist for $300 and drug it home. Well, not to my house but to my neice's house where her husband and I can work on it. They have a little space and his grandfather's farm is next door. Here's a link to a farming website that I posted a few pics of it if anyone is interested: http://ytforums.ytmag.com/viewtopic.php?t=882290
Dad is an old German farmer, grew up without much of anything in Minnesota but a good work ethic. I'm in the environmental field now but sure do miss some things about the farm.
Any other hobbies for you guys besides fishing? Anyone like to play in the dirt and grow stuff for the fun of it?
