Do you get snakes in your part of the country?
If your luck's like mine .... it will either sting, bite, or stink!![]()
Leave the plug out and back the boat in the water still attached to the trailer. Maybe extreme, but I am sure it will come out then.

Boat is in my back yard still from winter hiatus, the dog just alerted me to this the other day,,,I have thought about taking out all gear and tackle and disconnecting the bilge pump from batteries and putting in the plug and the garden hose
I think the garden hose would be the best bet. Water can dry out, but if it chews threw wires or any thing else it could be bad.
throw some moth balls in a cloth sack and drop back there for a day or so.....whatever is back there it will come out
just dont leave em in there![]()
If it is rats Bounce fabric softener sheets will get rid of them.![]()

If you do, disconnect the auto bilge pump or it may not sink enough to drive the critter out.
I had to do this when a rattlesnake climbed through the motor into the boat while I was fishing. I almost crapped when I looked back and saw it crawl under the passenger console. Luckily, I had taken off the the side panel under the console on that side and it crawled into the bilge. I shudder to think what would have happened if I hadn't seen it and the side panel was in place.
So many honey-dos . . . . . so little motivation
A "have a heart" trap with some stinky cat food should do it.
Bug Bomb?
Should at least drive whatever it is out, and kill all the little critters.
