Fishin muddy water the day after a good rain?

We are headed to lick creek tomorrow. My buddy says the bass wont be there nor will they bite in the muddy water which is about what the creeks are like here. I have never heard that. What do you guys think? Find a different place to fish or head to the creek?
thanks, Mike

Depends on how muddy. The fish that were there didn't leave in one day. If the muddy water is on top, they'll be underneath. If it's muddy to the bottome, they may be tight to cover. If it's real muddy in teh backs, they'll be tight or may have moved back a little to deeper water.

You talking about lick creek on Dale? If so check out smalljaw and see if anyone has posted any reports for today. I saw where the hammers are working through the week. Should be about to really turn on anytime now.

All depends on the "creek"....I do a lot of small river floating (canoe or flatbottom) around here on the Saline River....when it get mudded up, you might as well not go.....however, I've caught a lot of fish in muddy/fresh water coming in on lakes around here....

|If thecreek is muddy from a rain and the creek is normally clearish then move out to the area that transitions from muddy to clear.

Ive seen it one time where the only guy that did good in those conditions was throwing a double prop top water heddon. He was killing them along the banks. Water temps were in the low 50s that day.
