Man that hurts......just renewed my plates for 2012 (truck, bike, boat, trailer) $447.
I still have to buy a new fishing license and a DNR launch permit (required to have one on pretty much all Indiana lakes).![]()

Some people are so judgemental. You can tell just by looking at 'em.--Some random meme
That's a lot less than I will have to pay in May for just a truck and a boat! You got off easy.![]()

Georgia too! My wife's car alone was nearly that.![]()

Yep - Indiana is a bite when it comes to plates on any type of vehicle. Between 4 cars/trucks, a boat, a boat trailer, a pontoon, a jetski and a jetski trailer - it adds up.![]()

Yeah, cuz my truck is 10 yrs old. Another advantage of an old truck, beside not having payment.

Screw that.
It cost me $75 a year for my tags (per vehicle) and I think $20 for the boat. Nothing to launch. I do however have to buy my fishing liscense, $40ish.

That does make a difference. My Sierra is a 2011, I think plates, excise tax, etc, will be around $700.![]()

Lucky you're not in Canada, $480 for the truck yearly and another $280 for a drivers license yearly.

That must be a Quebec thing. In Ontario it's about $75 per year for the truck/car (forgotten the exact amount), and we renew our drivers license every 5 years.

That's every year?

Yessir! But, it goes down each year proportionate to the vehicle's value and age.
And that is why the tax debate is often futile. Our property taxes in NY are crazy high, but I just renewed the boat (3 yrs) $57 and trailer (1 Yr) $27. If they don't get you one way, they'll surely find another.
The only way they really get us in TN is sales tax, 9.25% everything else is very reasonable.
