Dad needs to learn how to wear his hat,, glad he is making the effort though. I would not put him in jail for it, but I think that doing something to increase the kids self esteem would be more productive. At least he is there for him and trying to help.

Kid's self esteem are plenty high now a days. There have actually been studies that show students learn better from experiences where they've been embarrassed rather than praised.
