    Gear ratio

    1993 175 Fastrike - Model J175GLET.

Does anyone know what gear ration I have, or where I could find this info? Google doesn't seem to help.

    Thanks.

    Re: Gear ratio (AmesHusker)

its the same ratio as a current 150 Etec. .54. one turn of the crank shaft = .54 turns of the prop shaft.
    1.85:1 overall

    Re: Gear ratio (claude)

    Thanks Mead.

Claude - looking at the numbers Mead gave me tells me that yours would be 2.27:1 ( 1/.44=2.27)

    V-6 1.86:1

    Depending on V-4 model 2.0:1 or 2.27:1.

    Re: Gear ratio (claude)

Divide the number of teeth on your pinion gear into the number of teeth on your forward gear= 2.27 Another way to look at it, your engine is turning 2.27 complete turns to the propshafts 1 turn. Hope this helps!

    Re: Gear ratio (claude)

Claude - gearcaseman is correct. But, since you already knew your propshaft turns .44 for every one turn of the engine , I just took 1 divided by .44.
