That was a brand new Flo Torq that melted in less than 2 miles. I took off, ran about a mile up lake, turned around, and it let go at WOT right in front of the ramp. Let me tell ya, it is scary as chit when that bow drops, the motor over revs, the computer kicks it down to idle, and I'm going for the ride of my life!

That hub let go at 78.2mph at 5800...

No, didn't hook, she went straight as an arrow, just spent a lot of time washing the decals on the side of the boat until I got her under control. It tried to hook, but good thing the bow didn't get enough bite to do it.

not that I will ever get that problem, what prop were you using, did you check to see if ( a merc) if they had the metal hub that will fix that problem?
I know the gambler I had the previous owner used to spin hubs like crazy ( plastic ones) till he got a racing one and then problem solved the only thing is the rubber will sometimes work loose but superglue or a thin line of epoxy will solve that.

No, I haven't done any investigating yet.... I'm too lazy to move that quick on something. I am going to see if that metal insert will work, I think it will. I was running a 28 Chopper at the time.

Man if that happened to me, you wouldn't be washing the decals on the sides, you would be washing the brown out of the seats.. Fred's right on the vest & kill switch deal.

Can someone tell me what a bow hook is? I've never heard the term before.

    Thanks,

When the bow of the boat drops and stops, while the ass end of the boat tries to keep going. You basically end up doing a very fast, uncontrolled 180* turn....

Thanks for the info. I guess it's like doing donuts in a car expect it happens when it's not expected.

    AB

Next time keep your pants zipper out of the picture! From the angle you are holding the thing it looks as if you broke something that could have really hurt.
