    Zona and Sanders...

...think they do a good job, BUT SERIOUSLY...wanting a play by play from Chris Lane while he's reeling in a potential $500K fish??? Give the guy some space!!!

They are desperately trying to step up the spectator interest in tournament fishing. Trying to find a way to improve mass appeal and since my floating bleacher design was rejected for "safety" reasons, they have to go a different route. It's not like I planned on running WOT with 150 people sitting on board. I just wanted to show what it could do when it was empty but the Safety Sallies said Noooooooooo!

LOL at "floating bleachers"... could be interesting to see though.

It isn't Zona or Sanders that irks me...it's that Dave Mercer and attempts to pump up the crowd

Stop it! As previously posted, it is against BBC law to criticize Dave Mercer.

That's just part of the price you pay to be in that tournament.

I agree. Keith Allen, or whatever his name was the guy before, was terrible. Mercer is no better if you ask me. I still say bring back Fish.

Not a fan of "The louder the cheers, the bigger the bass!" Seriously??? Are they going to change size in the livewell???

I'd have to say FLW crushes BASS when it comes to their TV coverage of tournaments! Figure that 95% or more of the people who watch bass fishing shows on TV are bass fisherman...no reason for the attempts at high drama...just show me a storyline, fish catches, and decent weigh in coverage and I'm happy!!! This is where FLW gets the nod IMO ...BASS is heading in the wrong direction

I agree that the FLW coverage is much better. Unfortunately my cable provider decided that that channel is no longer part of my normal viewing package. I just hate spending that much more coin on watching other people fish. I need to be out there fishing myself.

We had a Classic this year with a final weigh-in? I thought it was pre-empted for LSU vs. Alabama gymnastics. (It was until almost 9 PM Central).

I can't stand week later coverage after we got all the way up to on the water and same day TV coverage.

I THOROUGHLY enjoy the commentating from Zona and Sanders. I think they compliment each other perfectly.

Is that because he's developmentally disabled? Is that the term now? Or can I still say retarded?

The problem with BASS/ESPN, nearly all tournament coverage, and many other fishing shows, is they try to broaden the market by catering to people that don't fish...and probably never will.
It's only bass fishing for F's sake...it's never getting bigger, and possibly may be falling off it's peak now.

Seriously though, if I turn on an Elite Series or FLW event, it's not because I need to learn how to rig a Texas Rig worm.

    Re: Zona and Sanders... (tcbass)

Just be thankful McKinnis isn't on there any more by the time they let him get his spiel in there wasn't any time left to watch any fishing....Sanders tired old commentary isn't very good it's way too canned and needs to go...Zona would do better as a solo act as he knows when to shut up and Sanders keep yapping all while Chris was landing that fish... Uh Chris....What are you feeling right now ?....Shut Up Sanders and let the man fish...

Fishburne is an idiot whom I hope he never comes back to the stage.... I'll take Keith Allen any day over Fishburne.Zany Mercer is just zany Mercer and since they don't show much of the boring weigh in on the broadcast anymore who even cares who announces?

If you think changing emcees is going to turn Professional Bass Tournament Fishing into a prime time spectator sport guess again...
