    Minn Kota Edge 70

Anybody have a new one of these. I want to put one of these on my 518. I'm talking about the new style with the silver bracket and new foot pedal. Any good of bad new about them?

    Thanks.

I would upgrade to the 80 just for the variable speed controller. I have a 5 speed MK and hate it 4 is to slow and 5 is to fast. I will never have another non variable trolling motor.

    Good advice.

The Edge is a good trolling motor for the trolling motor it is. I don't think you will like it on the 518. Ranger 70's are really a 4" motor, which is an 80. The 70 will be a marginal motor on that boat. If I can help you, let me know.
