Is your fish finder wired through the key switch instead of being fed a continuous hot from the fuse panel? It sounds like it's through the key switch.

Could be a little corrosion in the wiring at the battery or somewhere in between. Also could be the battery you bought just isn't big enough to handle starting the motor and supplying enough juice for the electrnics at the same time. My Triton has a plug in the wiring harness under the bow panel and it was all corroded causing the same thing, drove me nuts until I found the problem.

I had that happen with my last boat, turned out the battery wasn't strong enough for the motor and the rest of the stuff it supplies. Check with your dealer or your motor manufacturer, they'll tell you what capacity battery is recommended for your motor.

    Wire it direct.
