The Saints are lucky I don't run the NFL. I'd suspend them for life!

Paid bonus by the D-coordinator to injure opposing players.

I wouldn't let a single one of them ever even watch another game on TV. Trash.

I agree it's not cool. But also, I'm betting most teams have done something along these lines!!

I have been listening to updates all day.

There was speculation of that after the Saint v Viking playoff game when Farve took just a god awful beating. If I remember right they took out Kurt Warner that year in the playoffs also.

Why do you think everyone was glad to see Greg go. Now he will be watched in St Louis.

NOT taking up for the Saints, but this is nothing new in the NFL. The Ravens did the same thing with Hines Ward, Rashard Mendenhall, and Ben Roethlisberger when they played a few years ago. Put Mendy out for the season.

Have to agree with Dancard; if anyone thinks they are the only team in the NFL that has done this then they are not in touch with reality...don't agree with it but there is no doubt this happens A LOT across the league....

Didn't that originate with the Eagles and Buddy Ryan? "The Bounty Bowl" with the Cowboys.

It happens for every team. Saints just got caught.

And I don't think its as big of a deal as its made out to be. I mean, how many big hits did the Saints defense make the last 2 years?? Hell, they didn't even tackle much, let alone hit. Maybe in 2009 they had some hits, but still then wasn't all that many. Who can name any player outside of Warner and Favre that they injured?

Yeah, Dick Butkus never tried to hurt anyone. I've been watching football since the early 60s and they always used to try and take people out. There were not a lot of rules against hurting people, had to man up to play. Playing is a choice, if you don't like it, don't play.

It is Football. Not Knitting or underwater basket weaving.

    Frankly the NFL is boring.

The NFL needs to get more violent, next thing you know the QBs will be wearing Pink Jerseys and you cannot touch them.

If I was a coach I would pay Hit Bonuses too!

I remember Jim Brown saying long ago that when Butkus hit you, you didn't have to look to see who it was when you were getting up you just knew it was him. Those two guys are two of the best that have played in the NFL.
