76 tornadoes reported so far today. Just incredible
At least 2 tornadoes today in the mountains of eastern KY which is rare beyond belief. Just reported on the news that West Liberty KY has only had 2 reported tornado touchdowns in 50 years and they have had 2 strong tornadoes hit that town in the last 3 days. Salyersville KY has never had a tornado touchdown in recorded history and they just had a tornado touchdown inside the city limits. Still waiting on the damage reports but early reports saying they have suffered extensive damage.
It's drizzling here today...no tornadoes. I am grateful for that, but I am worried about all y'all back there. Saw the aftermath of a tornado near Winchester TN back in the '50's, when I was 5 or 6. Sixty years later, I can still picture the scene in Decherd, with locomotives off the tracks and on their sides, other rolling stock farther from the tracks, and 2x4's all over town. Keep your eyes open and be safe!
