Posted this in the Trucks forum. Thought I would do it here as well.
Hope someone can figure this out. I have a 2007 F-150 5.4 Triton. I bought it used 2 years ago. Today I was pulling my boat to the lake ( 28 miles ) and about half way there, the truck started to vibrate. At first I thought it was the engine missing or running rough, but the further I went, it seemed more like it was in the drive train. When I pressed the gas, it would vibrate. When I let off the gas. it would stop vibrating. Started to head back home, but then I thought "what the heck" if I can make it to the lake, I'm gonna fish a while. Made it to the lake, fished about 5 hours, back to the ramp, loaded the boat and drove home. Never had the vibration again. Only thing I did differently coming back was I didn't turn off the overdrive button. Ever since I've had the truck, I've always towed with the overdrive off, which is what I thought you were supposed to do. Never had this problem before with it off or on. Anyone have any ideas ?
