Had to move my old roll-top desk yesterday and, because it is a ton empty, discovered some old photos (on paper no less) as I was trying to lighten the load. One in particular intrigued me: a nice largemouth I caught on Lake Moultrie in early 1999 while practicing for a tournament there. Didn't carry a scale in those days, so no idea what it weighed. Caught it on a 6 foot baitcaster (seen in pic) and spinnerbait off a shoreline laydown in about 5 feet of water. About this time of year, too.
Probably the biggest largemouth I've ever caught, but coming from Ohio, I'm not very experienced in estimating weights of Santee Cooper big uns. Just for fun [this ought to be good], can anyone make a decent guesstimate of the weight from this picture?
I have another view of the fish where it's turned sideways. Lacks about 3 inches of fitting from console to rod box on the floor of my then Javelin 389.
Thanks. -- JC
