brake controller

What is a good single axle electric brake controller (trailer has brakes at all wheels), its a tandom axle trailer. 8,000 lb trailer. I bought a camper tonight and need to get one before Saturday. Going to trailer dealer and looking for ideas on what is better. I have always used a basic "dial" type in the past, but am considering a digital controller this round.

At the very least get a proportional controller and not a timed one.

Yep, proportional is the only way to stop. My first rig had one of those cheapo timed ones That one was trash. A real pain and challenge in traffic then open roads then traffic. Pains me to think about it again.

Those prodigies have been the rage for quite some time.

I have the Prodigy as well. It's been the best one I've had so far, real simple to install.

Prodigy or any of the Tekonsha proportionals. No comparison.

    Re: brake controller (CatFan)

I ordered the Prodogy P2 with plug in wire harness. Should be here in the morning. Heading to pick up our camper Saturday. Thanks for the help. It is not a small camper and I wanted something good.
