I noticed a scrapping noise comming from the prop when I turned it by hand.I took it off and found a small void forming at the start of one of the blades maybe 1/4" looks like a casting defect ,the noise is from some of the material comming out of the void and sticking to the outside ring.The prop is about 2 years old is it under warranty?
A photo would help to get a better description of your problem. Is the flaw inside of the exhaust barrel? Don't understand what you mean by the outside ring. It is normal to see wear in the area where the stepped edge of the prop fits into the gearcase. This area of the gearcase is called the labrinth seal.
The warranty one year.
Its on the outside right where the blade starts.does anybody know the warranty on this prop?

I just bought a new prop from BRP, would this be a Raker? as there is no make on the box.
Al it say-es on the box is Johnson, Evinrude prop.... thanks
the prop if late model BRP will have the prop name cast intothe prop hub. or give us the part number for the best wat to identify it.
Part # is 763467 which is stamped on the prop. But no make.
