I go this morning to peoria to test for the sheriff's office. I have a knot in the pit of my gut about this that I won't pass! Wish me luck though this has always been my plan to be a sheriffs deputy and follow in my dad and uncles foot steps!

Dont worry about the physical part, you also have a psychological test to pass. You will do good, just relax. Make us proud!!!!!!!
Well.. Thanks to a previous shoulder injury when I went to do a 166 pound bench press I dropped the bar sideways and the two deputies standing there failed me on the spot. Warm up rep and they failed me.. :-l So at this point my career in law enforcement isn't exactly budding.. So I give up.. I guess I'll just stick to what I'm doing now..
Guess it was better now, than when having to wrestle someone to handcuff them that could have resulted in serious injury to you. Sorry for the outcome.

So does this knock you out of contention for good or can you try again later ? Is your shoulder that messed up that it would be impossible for you to make that lift ever ? A friend of my parents failed the New Jersey State Police physical three times before passing - he went on to a long career with them, now retired.
Sorry about the outcome of your physical, hope you can get another shot at it

Careful, we had a 22 yr old collapse and die here this past week after running 1.5 mile run in applicant training...
