Ever thought of going to a smaller boat

I was just wondering if anybody has a big bass boat but wants something smaller, I have a Triton 21Hp and dont get me wrong thats a fun and fishes very well, I had a 19ft Skeeter before this and sometimes I miss the shorter boat when your fishing around docks but the big boat has a nice ride and handles rough water hands down better by far. I was just wondering about maybe going to a 19 or 20 ft boat next time. Just dont want to have buyers remorse

Bassmaster had a pretty good write up on this in this month's issue. Talks about how many have a perception that in order to be a successful bass angler you need the big huge high dollar rige......we all know that isn't true, but a good writeup ninetheless.

Re: Ever thought of going to a smaller boat (bwwarnock)

I miss my smaller boat all the time but then again I love the things my 21fter offers. I have been pondering a 16 foot aluminum for the smaller lakes that are tree and stump infested. Not to mention the cost savings on fuel. Of corse that means I still keep the 21 footer for most of my fishing.
I caught a lot of big fish out of my 16fter. But my two biggest have come from my 21fter.

I have a 21' fiberglass boat and a 17.5' aluminum with a 50hp on it. I use the aluminum boat 10 to 1 over the 21' Only thing I hate with a passion is I am the wind's bitch in that tin job. Constantly having to be on the troller to stay the course.

i did ,kind of, i went from a 19 ft glass nitro to a 16 ft tin with a 40 hp. i did it for economical reasons. i saved about 600 bucks in gas and fished about as much as i wanted to but, i regret selling the nitro.

I went from a 21 back down to a 19. I just couldnt get the 21 in behind the docks and trees as good.

I have a 20 1/2 foot Procraft & a 16ft Catolina Skiff. I keep the Skiff up North in WI once I go up and open up the camper. I have a blast fishing out of it. Great shallow water boat and handles rough water ok also. I love the big boat, except when I am fishing by myself. Whole lot easier with someone else helping with the launching & Loading! LMAO @ Jerry!!!!!!

I would like a shorter boat for certain situations, ie dock fishing, tree lines, ect but would never give up my 22'r.

This is exactly what I did. I've got a 16 footer alumacraft that I paid 3 grand for that's perfect for the smaller lakes. It's a cheap date when I don't want to haul out the fiberglass rig!
