correct. Elite will only read Premium and yes since it is a border lake it will be on both. On freshest data, yes unlock the card, plug into reader and into computer. go to navionics.com, register your chart and then go to downloads and updates. if you have any issues let me know. by the way I notice my return key wont work anymore on this forum and keep typing on same line., anyone else getting this?

For you're return key not working:
try hitting the 1st A on the tool bar in the message box

If it don't work: clear you're cookies

    or use Google Chrome

The Platinum chip is okay if your looking for a 3d mode but if you keep it in 2d mode you basically have premium chip. The Premium chip is cheaper an is worth every penny if your fishing lakes and rivers.

It all depends what part of the country your in the east covers 16 states the mid west cover 16 I think as well. I have the Premium East I love it I find so much stuff looking at my map.

Hi everyone, I need some help. I'm currently shopping for a new fish finder combo and am looking for something that I can use to chart my own lakes. I'm in Northern Ontario and there isn't much on any chip for where I fish. I know the Lowrance units offer Insight Genesis but only for the higher end touch models (even though their site says the Elite 7 does it, the sale rep here says it actually doesn't). The Humminbird has the Sonarchart feature which I think may be what I'm looking for. Here are some questions

    1. Does Sonarchart work in Canada (I know Canada has issues with some data sharing on mapping like this)
    2. Is Sonarchart as easy as fishing on an unknown lake tracking sonar as you go, upload the data, download for next trip, fish and track again, upload same lake again with additional data, download again, etc.
    3. What chip do I need (at minimum) to get this working. The chip isn't a big thing as there are only a couple maps (mostly great lakes / Manitoulin island area) that I would use
    4. The unit I'm leaning toward (since Elite 7 is out of the running now) is the Humminbird 858. Is this 100% compatible?

Any recommendations you guys have on the unit and my needs would be great. I'm new to all this as the one on my boat now is a very basic unit. I'd like to get something around $1000 that has chart, sonar, and Down Image (I wish I could get Side Image as well but that's a whole other price point) and something that can make me some of my own maps.

    Cheers!

Very good question (I want to know for myself)

    Yes

    C6 Platinium

If it can record logs the answer is yes

Anyone know how to change the depth readings from 0.15km to Feet when plugging the navionics chip into a laptop?

I just bought a new premium east card, how many time do I have to update through navionics world before it has all the latest data. The pc app was up to date after 2 downloads, but damn I'm going on 15 updates and it still doesn't say its up to date. Am I missing something?

On my mobile phone so apologize for short answers:
no real way to print from pc app or Navplanners effectively.

Update chart... We do daily updates to charts at now 2000 a day so the chart is only up to date as much as yesterday. If you are getting some kind of error message please let me know.

    1. Yes sonarcharts will work in Canada. Currently coming in the summer. It will only work with Humminbird. You can record and view on lower end plotters. We are working on a chip called Nav+ that will allow you to do so. Stay tuned but the answer is yes!
    2. Yes
    3. Nav+ or platinum C6
    4. 898 is a GREAT unit. This will run a platinum chart, all the features, and do sonarcharting

I'm not getting any error messages. It updates just fine, but it never says your card is up to date. I must have continuously updated the card from about 3 pm Saturday until 5 pm Sunday. When one update completed I would, start another one. After a day of it, I just gave up on it.

yes, the downloads complete every time. I've updated the chart at least 25 times between sat and sun and it never said it was up to date. Maybe it doesn't, but I'm pretty sure my old chip would get to the point where everything was current/

Here's an issue i'm having i hope someone can shed some light on. Purchased a new version of Hotmaps premium for my Lcx 111c. When I install the card,
it freezes up the unit and continually re boots. When i put my old Hotmaps card in it loads no prob.I believe the 111 is updated to ver 2.1. I have tried
the chip in my 332c and it seems load fine(also tried it in a bird with no problems) Also updated to freshest data available. Any help would be greatly
    appreciated. Thank you.
