Bassmaster lifetime membership. anyone do this?

So they called me today. I had just re upped for 5 years few months ago. Im good till nov 2019. He wanted to know if i wanted lifetime. I am 35 years old. Normal cost $500. Because of my subscription having so much time left my cost is $340. $300 in tackle. A abu reel. Forget which one but he said its going for $137 on BPS. Plus I already get Basstimes and they are giving me 2 more years of that. And the lifetime membership can go to my son when i die. what you guys think?
The tackle i got when i reupped for 5 years was actually all good shit. I was surprised when i got it.

I would verify this directly with BassMasters, the deal sounds too good. Call member customer services at (877)227-7872.

Just looked on BASS under the subscriptions tab. The reel is Revo Garcia s. It's $129.00 at Basspro and there is a rebate on the reel.
Sounds like a deal to me. 5 year is $125, lifetime is $500.
Dont know how they came up with $340. Then again I aint no numbers guy. $500-$125=$375.

I'd call CS like BB53 recommends. Never know, maybe you can swindle them down lower.

If you can swing it I would do it. A friend of mine did the lifetime at 25 years old. He is smelling like a rose now. Especially with the freebies... No brainer..

Yes, We still get Bass Times. I enjoy the Times more than the magazine. Freebies...life members dont get any freebies...we do however get credentials for the Classic.

Rob "Bass Times" is the deal, but i have not gotten an issue in over a year, guess its time to make a call, and no freebies unless you count those books they sent out a couple of years ago, that nobody ordered, then they wanted payment because they were so sure you wouldn't want to miss this "fine opportunity"

Got my life membership twenty or so years ago. I'm thinking it was good deal over the long run. What's even better than that nifty belt buckle, BASS ring and similar swag, is that they pull life members off the telemarketer rolls.

Life member here and do get bass times. I would check on life membership being transferable to your son, have never heard that before.

You have to be on a club roster in order to get BASSTimes I think. Those lifers or annual members not getting BASSTimes this is likely why. If you are part of a club and not getting your BASSTimes check with your president or Treasurer, they should be the ones fixin' you up. I'm the treasurer for my club of about 30 members and am pretty busy in the spring making sure the roster is up to date once their club dues are paid. Quite a bit of work actually but really enjoy our club and members so it is all worth while.

I got a phone call a few months back with a lifetime membership "special offer". It was a cold call, so I didn't agree to it, but told them to send me some information and I would decide at a later date. Bad move. They immediately started sending me overdue invoices and letters asking me why I had not paid for my membership yet, even though I had not agreed. These letters came in the middle of my yearly subscription cycle that I prepaid for. After a few months of these letters I got a letter from a "collections agency" stating that my credit report would be affected if I did not pay this bill. As soon as I read this letter I called the phone number with a full head of steam ready to unload on whoever answered. A receptionist answered and I told her what was going on. She put me on hold and a guy answered knowing my name, even though I hadn't given it, by looking at caller i.d. It turns out it was either the same office as b.a.s.s. or a related office. I explained to him that I never agreed to any lifetime subscription and I asked why they sent a collections letter. He went into a sales pitch trying to get me to sign up! They sent me a fake collections letter to get me to pay for a subscription I never agreed to. Well, that s.o.b. was so good I bet he could sell a ketchup popsicle to a woman in white gloves cuz I signed up. Just kidding, I told him to take that collection letter and jam it up his --- and I hope he gets paper cuts in the process.

Sorry for the rant, but the moral of the story is be careful when you talk to anyone about these lifetime subscriptions.
