Yes, here is my update.
I useda Mach 3 for 14 months and it was still as sharp as day one. I have a bowl of alcohol under the sink with a lid and dip and swish it around after every shave. i then let it air dray on the bowl. You need to have a lid or the alcohol will evaporate. I since bought a new razor the fusion, because it was free after the rebate. Gave the old one to my daughter with the 3 extra blades. I am still on my first set of blades and it has been 6 months.
It has been the best tip ever.

I know I dug this post up out of the cobwebs but I have been doing this since I read this post and this should definately win the clever tip and idea of the century award. It really works well. I use rubbing alcohol on mine.
I am doing also with rubbing alcohol! One razor for 4 months!
ok so rubbing alcohol, not denatured or something right?

Will have to try this!
I have been using the same blade since I saw this in Nov 2010. I dip mine in rubbing alcohol and dry with hair dryer.

No need to dry if dipped in rubbing alcohol is there? I use rubbing alcohol but not the hair dryer.

I have been doing this for years (drying razor)--- the microscopic rust is what dulls the blade. Another tip ( unless someone else mentioned it and I missed it) I quit using shaving cream years ago. I use shampoo or a natural body soap I use in the shower--- it shaves closer ( ask the older guys that still use the cake soap and brush ) and the razor washes out real nice ( muti-blade razors suck to rinse clean )
since i saw this post i am going on 9 shaves with the same razor, usually i would get a few maybe 4 if is was lucky and i have very sensitive skin and it has worked awesome for me.
In the winter I used to place mine on the heater vent. Dries it right up. Then I switched to Titanium and they last ridiculously long anyhow. Twice as expensive though.
