On Speed Channel they were playing the Dale Earnhardt Daytona episode of "The Day". Hard to watch this one. Lots of emotions from the drivers and friends. Anyone else catch this?

Can't watch it, I was there the day he died, and I can not tell you how eerie it was.
I feel bad for kenny,, he knew his bud was gone when he got to him..
John, Lori and I use to have Daytona 500 tower seats for 12 years. We were at Daytona the day Dale flipped down the back stretch and we thought he was dead until he came on the scanner...followed by RC saying to him "Dale, don't go out and do something stupid",. We were also present when he won the 500, that was an awesome race. People were cutting sections of grass where he tried to do a "3" in the front stretch.
In years past, the race would end and 160,000 fans were in the streets in 15 minutes. Not that day...NO one left the stands for 30-40 minutes. That fateful day, we elected to go to Hawaii instead of Daytona....more than happy we did.

That portion of the show really got to me when Schrader was describing that. Lot of emotion during this show. I remember watching the race, seeing the wreck and never thought anything about it. I mean heck, he was Dale Earnhardt. Legends don't die. Even now, 11 years later I still can't really wrap my hands around the fact that he's gone.

I use to be a huge race fan, of all types. Every weekend I would either watch Dale -back to when the Lumina first came out, or CART (INDYCAR)
I've seen a few fatal accidents. As a Dale fan it goes without saying about how you felt that day/time.
One of the worst I saw though was a guy in Cart named Jeff Krosnoff, crashing on a street circuit in Toronto Canada.
Guy jumped up over a rear tire, got caught in a fence, and hit head/body first right into a big street lightpole. It was one that you just KNEW he was gone. The car was GONE, and all that was left on track was him, in his seat with suit/helmet on.
On the replays Emerson Fittipaldi, and another guy I can't remember where so shocked by what they saw in their mirrors, they just drove right through a curve they were supposed to follow.

Is Sterling still "a person of interest" in the incident?

Only to those that don't know chit about racing.
