How much does it cost to get seats replaced

I am thinking of buying a 2000 Ranger R91 but the seats are in bad shape. My question is what is the average price to have the seats completely replaced and what is the cost to have them refinished/reskinned? Thanks for any help. This is important since in need to negotiate the price. He is at $11,000 right now with the bad seats and a 200 merc optimax. Also does anyone have problems with the trailer wheel wells scratching the boat. Pictures don't really show carpet lining them? Thanks

The boat should not actually touch the trailer wheel wells except occasionally when loading. All Ranger trailers came with carpet on the boat side of the wells.

519dc, for that price, did they recover your bench or is that for an entirely new bench? Been thinking about having mine done but not excited about shipping my bench off for a prolonged period of time.

well this is a R91 so there will be a price difference right? Do they send you a new seat and you put it on or do you have to take it to a service shop?

I just had mine recovered on a 1997 487VS by a local upholstery shop 2 weeks ago. They used better grade vinyl than the factory and if I didnt tell you it had been done, you probably wouldn't know it. It cost me $460.

I own a 1997 R72 and last Year I needed to replace seats also , it came with a bench seat and of course over the Years got bad like yours so looked into replacement and Ranger has skins their called which you tear off the old one and replace so thats what i did, and looked good at first and cost about $200.00 for the skin but didn't last long really disappointed so I looked around and decided to get Buckets and wound up getting them at Sportsmanguide ? for around $300.00 for both and come in many different colors, takes a couple weeks once ordered but a little work they came out great and I'm thinking better than the bench ,

To get my bench re skinned on my 481vs they want about $700. My seats are in terrible shape they said i need some new foam plus alot of other work an they flat out told me that it would only be about $50-75 in material but is extremely labor intensive.

I installed the new seat myself, basically there is a clip for the backrest and 2 screws that hold it in place. Personally I have seen alot of reskinned seats and most dont hold up especially if the foam is compressed. Ranger uses good quality materials. I am totally happy with the results

I took my seat to a local upholstery shop and they recovered my seat for $400. Matches perfectly as I also had them do my butt seat for $50. The material was a lot better quality than what was provided on my boat, not saying the Ranger seat was bad (It lasted 11 years) just that the material was twice as thick from the upholstery shop...
