Just wondering why the BASS Central Opens seem so tough??? 81 people did not weigh in fish....I know that there are alot of good anglers that fish so it can't be the fishermen when you see that many people struggle.![]()

And it is going to get even colder as the tourney goes on.
I was kind of surprised at the co angler results with the pro results being so low. Back of the boat not doing to bad considering.
Have you ever been to Lake Lewisville? It can be brutal.

That lake is a piss poor pond on its best day. Not saying there arent fish in it but they are there yet again at least a month and a half to early. That lake is the one reason I didnt fish the opens this year. I will admit it I cant catch chit out there when its a crap shoot like it is right now.
I would wager a guess that 2 guys found a pattern and the rest are falling on fish.
I have never been there but one would think it has to be a decent lake in order for BASS to have an Open there. I thought they make the trail to hit the best lakes at the best times???

Your confusing it with the elites...The opens go to the highest bidder at whatever time.
This is not an exaggeration its whatever town pays BASS the most to come.

This is the truth.. I know first hand... they got 20K + in kind to come here (Tenn Tom)
Th CVB pays out around 10-15 K to have the State Federation Tourney here, that's why they keep having it here, since nobody else puts up a bid... As well as BFL's (not sure what they get)
oh...I did not know that about the opens. I guess that makes sense on why they chose that lake.![]()

Uh....last year they went to Texoma, which has to be the biggest suckhole I've ever been on....
The Elites go to the good spots....

At least Texoma offers more ways/styles to fish then Lewisville. I fished Texoma 2 years ago in the open, and fished 3 different ways each day.
Lewisville fishes much smaller, so some places you just take turns going down the bank.

Very true. Lewisville fishes tiny. For the past three years at the Boat US Collegiate Championship, there were like 10 boats on the dam each day, same with over by the expressway bridges, as well as any piece of offshore structure and cover.
But there is a lot of money in that area and the city is good about getting events in there. The lake has great ramps and marinas, plus good location and BPS close by. Everything is perfect for lerge events there except the fishing.

The same can be said for Columbus on the Tenn Tom

Texoma is an great Bass fishery last year in the Future Bass trail it took 20#'s to get a check. We had on average bout 60-80 boats per tx and the weigh in's were full of 5-6 lb bass.

The Elites are no different. Remember that slugfest we had a couple of years in Pittsburg? And you wanna know why there not going to Falcon. It's because the town's broke.
